§7 Use of Matomo

(1) Type and scope of data processing

We use the open source software tool Matomo (formerly PIWIK) of the service provider InnoCraft Ltd, 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand, to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users.

The software does not use persistent cookies.

When the customer portal is called up, the following data is transmitted:

  • two bytes of the IP address of the user's calling system,
  • the website visited,
  • the domain from which the user reached the accessed website (domain of the referrer),
  • the sub-pages called up from the visited web page,
  • the time spent on the website,

The software runs exclusively on cloud servers in the EU. Personal data of the users is not stored.

The data is not passed on to third parties.

It is not possible to trace the data back to a specific person, as your IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage.

(2) Purpose of data processing

The processing of the anonymised user data enables us to analyse the surfing behaviour of our users. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information on the use of the individual components of our customer portal. This helps us to continuously improve our customer portal and its usability.

(3) Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for the use of Matomo is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Our legitimate interest in using Matomo is that we can use the statistics obtained through Matomo to improve our services and make them more interesting for you as a user.

(4) Period of storage

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for our recording purposes. At the latest after 24 months of collection.

(5) Option to object

Tracking can be objected under "Consent Management".

Likewise, the "Do Not Track" option of your browser will be taken into account.

More information on the privacy settings of the Matomo software can be found under the following link:
